Intracellular paracrystalline, eosinophilic aggregates of microfilament-associated proteins including actin, α-actinin, and vinculin, characteristic of neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease, although they occur in various neurons as a function of age, without apparent effect.
