A collection of canons and decretals, so called because of its Spanish origin. In its earliest form, which a persistent if disputed tradition links with Isidore of Seville, it consists of the canons of various councils ending with that of Toledo in 633, followed by decretals of Popes from Damasus to Gregory V.
