Based in Antwerp, he spent some time in England, where he made portraits of Queen Elizabeth I and members of the aristocracy, among them W. Cecil and Robert Dudley, earl of Leicester. He is known for his prints of the London Exchange (1569), as well as maps and city views for Ortelius’s Theatrum Orbis Terrarum (1570) and for Georg Braun’s Civitates Orbis Terrarum (1572–1617). He also published several broadsheets and satirical prints.
