Austrian dancer, choreographer, and teacher. She studied with Bodenwieser and in 1926 opened her School of Art, Movement, and Expression, developing her own style of expressionist movement. She was forced to leave Austria by the Nazis and moved to Bombay where she continued to perform and teach. In 1949 she left and settled in London where she taught and directed, including a seminal production for people with learning difficulties, Towards the Light (1969). Her pupils have included Lindsay Kemp.
