Holmberg radius

A measure of the size of a galaxy, based on its observed surface brightness. It is the radius at which the surface brightness is 26.5 magnitudes per square arc second in blue light, and represents about 1–2% of the brightness of the night sky. It is named after the Swedish astronomer Erik Bertil Holmberg (1908–2000).
