Quick Reference

Two exchanges were established in 1891 and 1921, which were merged into the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 1947. This took over the Far East Exchange (founded 1969), the Kam Ngam Stock Exchange (founded 1971), and the Kowloon Stock Exchange (founded 1972) to become the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong ( SEHK) in 1986. In 2000 Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd ( HKEx) was established as a holding company for SEHK, the Hong Kong Futures Exchange, and the Hong Kong Securities Clearing Company.
