A weekly periodical started in 1850 by Dickens, and incorporated in 1859 into All the Year Round, which he edited until his death. It published much of Dickens's own work and other writers such as Mrs Gaskell, Reade, and Bulwer‐Lytton, established the reputation of Wilkie Collins, and published poems by the young Meredith and Patmore.
