Quick Reference

The reply made by a Web server in response to an HTTP request. The response consists of three elements: a status line which indicates whether the request has been successful or not; a description of the information in the response (whether, for example it is text or a graphic); and the information requested. This is normally a Web page. The status line includes the HTTP status code. The information contained in the response will be displayed in a browser.
