(1907–1989), biographer. Born in Belfast and educated at QUB and Oxford, he served as an Intelligence Officer in the Second World War. Thereafter he wrote up a great number of case histories, notably The Trials of Oscar Wilde (1948) and The Trial of Sir Roger Casement (1960). He wrote a life of Edward Carson (1953), and two studies of Oscar Wilde (1963 and 1976).
