A hot, moist pack used as a therapeutic aid in the treatment of contusions muscle sprains, and muscle spasms. A pack is heated to about 65 °C, placed in thick towels and applied to the injured region for 20–30 min per session. Care must be taken to prevent burning the skin. The pack has an anlagesic effect and increases surface circulation.
