Quick Reference

The set of epitopes (idiotopes) that characterize a particular immunoglobulin. Anti-idiotype antibodies combine with the specific sequences, often in the antigen-binding site, and may block immunological reactions. They may resemble the epitope to which the first antibody reacts. See network theory.
