NASA's two-stage rocket used to launch large satellites carried by a space shuttle. Built by the Boeing Company, the rocket was first deployed from the shuttle in 1983. It is 5 m in length and 3 m in diameter, and weighs approximately 14 625 kg. It has two solid rocket motors, a reaction control system, and redundant systems for guidance, navigation, and communications.
