(IL-21)

An IL-2-like cytokine (131 aa), produced by activated T cells, that induces the proliferation of T cells and B cells and differentiation of natural killer cells. The receptor shares a common γ chain with the IL-2 receptor. In some early reports IL-22 was mistakenly named IL-21.
