Quick Reference

One of the IL-10 family of cytokines, also called interferon-λ2 (200 aa). Like interferon-I it has antiviral activity and up-regulates MHC class I antigen expression. IL-28A, IL-28B, and IL-29 all signal through a heterodimeric receptor complex composed of the IL-10 receptor β (IL-10 Rb) and a novel IL-28 receptor β (interferon-λR, 520 aa). IL-28B (interferon-λ3) and IL-29 (interferon-λ1) are very similar to IL28A.
