(IL-31)

A cytokine (164 aa) produced by Th2 cells, closely related to the IL-6 family of cytokines. Signals through a receptor composed of IL-31 receptor A (732 aa) and oncostatin M receptor B (979 aa) that is constitutively expressed by keratinocytes. IL-31 is involved in allergic skin reactions and possibly pruritus.
