The stream of interstellar gas and dust that appears to be moving past the Solar System because of the motion of the Sun around the Galaxy. It starts at the heliopause, where the solar wind gives way to the interstellar wind. The Pioneer and Voyager probes now travelling out of the Solar System are expected to encounter the interstellar wind early in the 21st century.
