Statutory legislation introduced by the UK parliament to cover the use of x-ray equipment in dental clinics or practices. When x-ray equipment is installed, it requires that the Health and Safety Executive are informed, a risk assessment is undertaken, a radiation protection supervisor and radiation protection adviser are appointed, operating staff are fully trained, and that local rules are written and visibly displayed.
