Quick Reference

1 The temperate, last Pleistocene interglacial, named after Ipswich, Suffolk, England.

2 Late Pleistocene deposits that occur in river valleys, often associated with terraces. Pollen diagrams compiled from them indicate that the climate was not much different from that of the present day. The deposits can perhaps be correlated with those of the Eemian of north-western Europe.
