Flemish composer. From 1485 to 1493 in service of Lorenzo de' Medici at Florence as org., choirmaster, and teacher of his children. Court composer at Innsbruck 1500–1. Returned to Florence 1502 and also served at Ferrara. Comp. much church mus. (36 masses), and many secular songs. Motets pubd. in 3 vols. as Choralis Constantinus (1550). Modern complete edn. of his works, ed. F. Lerner, begun in 1974. Regarded as one of major figures of the Desprès era.
