Not the modern (reddish-orange) jacinth, but a blue stone; it is mentioned at Exod. 28: 19 as being in the high priest's breastpiece. In Rev. 9: 17 the colour of the breastpieces of jacinth (AV) worn by the horsemen in the seer's vision is likened to ‘sapphire’ (NRSV), ‘turquoise’ (REB), ‘hyacinth-blue’ (NJB). Jacinth is also a stone in the wall of the New Jerusalem (Rev. 21: 20).
