(c. 1719–1771) Geographer to the King, London map engraver, and map seller. His map of Bedfordshire, published for the Society of Arts in 1765, was one of the first to use the Greenwich meridian. He published further maps for the Society of Arts: Huntingdonshire (1768), Oxfordshire (1768–9), and Yorkshire (1771–2). He and Thomas Kitchin published a Small English Atlas (1749), which ran into several editions up to 1787. Jefferys's West Indies Atlas (1775) and his American Atlas (1776) were published posthumously.
