Quick Reference

The main portion of this OT Book consists of a discussion between Job and his three friends. Its subject is the problem of innocent suffering. Job rejects the traditional view that suffering is the result of sin, since he has no doubt of his own innocence. No final solution to the problem is offered, apart from emphasis on the omnipotence of God. The Book probably dates from c.400 bc.
