A technique advocated by ACAS as a means of preventing industrial disputes. JWPs are chaired by ACAS staff and consist of a group of employer and employee representatives who work together to devise mutually acceptable solutions to specific workplace problems. JWPs are often established following an approach to ACAS from a company that is experiencing industrial relations problems. They can operate effectively in both unionized and non-unionized companies.
