A comedy by T. Stoppard performed and published 1972.
The play's central character is a professor of moral philosophy, George Moore, who shares with G. E. Moore his intuitionist ethics. The physical acrobatics of the jumpers parallel the ‘verbal gymnastics’ of Moore's lengthy speeches, which are brilliantly witty parodies of academic philosophy.
