(1899 –1970) An economist often regarded as a follower and interpreter of John Maynard Keynes. Kalecki's work, however, anticipated Keynes's in some important respects. His Essay on Business Cycle Theory (1933) theorized the capitalist economy as a demand-determined system three years before the publication of Keynes's General Theory.
