An acute, self-limited vasculitis (mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome) of infants and children which causes a skin rash, glandular enlargement and in some cases, severe dilatation of the coronary arteries. A functional polymorphism of the gene for inositol-1,4,5-trisphosphate 3-kinase C (ITPKC) is significantly associated with susceptibility.
