Quick Reference

A Drosophila gene on chromosome 2L at 36D3. It encodes an actin-binding protein that is characterized by the presence of six 50-amino acid kelch repeats. The phosphorylation of the kelch protein is required for the proper morphogenesis of ovarian ring canals (q.v.), and a protein kinase encoded by Src gene catalyzes this reaction. See actin, Src.
