US dancer. She trained at the Academy of the Maryland Youth Ballet and the School of American Ballet, joining American Ballet Theatre in 1985 as apprentice and becoming full-time member in 1986, soloist in 1990, and principal in 1993. She has danced leading roles in the classical and 20th-century repertories and created roles in several works, including Kudelka's Cruel World (1994), Tharp's Known By Heart (1998), and The Brahms-Haydn Variations (2000), and Duato's Without Words (2004). In 1987 she starred in the film Dancers (dir. H. Ross).
