British dancer and teacher. He studied with Idzikowski and Rambert and danced with Ballet Rambert (1936–9 and 1940–1). In 1941 he joined Sadler's Wells Ballet then danced with the Anglo-Polish Ballet (1942–3) and with Sadler's Wells Theatre Ballet (1946–51). He taught in Europe and the US and in 1959 opened a school in Essex with his wife, Janet Sinclair. They were co-authors of A Dictionary of Ballet Terms (London, 1952).
