A verb taken from the name of Dr Jack Kervorkian, the American doctor who has been accused of assisting the death of the terminally ill. It is used to describe the process of terminating a program: for example, killing the downloading of a Web page when you see that it contains uninteresting material or killing a program because it is demonstrating undesirable features such as looping interminably doing nothing.
