Korean dancer, choreographer, and director. She studied at Ewha Women's University, joining the Yook Wan-soon Dance Company (1969–76) and in 1971 co-founding her own company with Kim Bock-hee. Working in a fusion of Korean and Western idioms they co-choreographed many works, including For My Friend in the Sky (mus. Milhaud, 1984). In 1985 she also founded the SAPPHO Modern Dance Company. She has taught at several universities and in 1989 founded the Korean Dance Education Society for which she has subsequently acted as president.
