Of 386 bc, epoch‐making arrangement, imposed by king Artaxerxes 2 II of Persia, whereby the Corinthian War was ended. The peace guaranteed the autonomy of the Greeks, in exchange for recognition that the cities in Asia, also the ‘islands’ Clazomenae (not actually an island) and Cyprus, should belong to Persia. The Spartan Antalcidas was prominent in the negotiations, hence the alternative name Peace of Antalcidas.
