Edward Knott was born in Catchburne, Northumberland and died in London on 14/24 January. He was sent to Douai by a Catholic friend, and was there reconciled to the Roman Church. He remained at the English College from September 1599 until August 1602, when he was sent to the English College in Rome. Ordained priest in March 1602, he entered the Society of Jesus in Rome in October.
