Ballet in two acts with choreography by Mérante, libretto by François Coppé and Mérante, music by C. M. Widor, sets by Lavastre, Rubé, and Chaperon, and costumes by Lacoste. Premiered 1 Dec. 1880 at Paris Opera with Mauri, Sanlaville, and Mérante. It is set in 17th-century Brittany and tells the story of Yvonette who is bewitched by the Queen of the Korriganes. In the second act (reminiscent of Giselle) Yvonette's lover Lilez comes to find her among the ghostly korriganes. The lovers dance together until the korriganes finally scatter at dawn. An enormously popular ballet, it received over 100 performances at the Opera.
