Quick Reference

A protein (KREV interaction trapped 1, CCM1 gene product, 529 aa) that interacts with integrin cytoplasmic domain-associated protein-1 and is involved in determining endothelial cell shape and function in response to cell–cell and cell–matrix interactions by an effect on cytoskeletal structure. Mutations lead to abnormal endothelial tube formation and the formation of cerebral cavernous malformations (CCM1) lesions. KRIT1 also interacts with malcaverin, a protein that is defective in CCM2.
