German sound artist and composer. As a pioneering specialist in sound environments and installations (frequently mixing found noise with music) he began his career-long collaboration with Robert Wilson in 1978. In the dance world he has worked closely with Laurie Booth creating the sound for several productions including Completely Birdland (for Rambert Dance Company, 1991), and also with Dana Reitz (Suspect Terrain, 1990). His recent works for dance include Frankenstein for Alias Dance Theatre (2007).
