Hungarian dancer and teacher. She studied at Budapest State Opera Ballet School and in Moscow with Semenova, E. Gerdt, and Messerer. In 1949 she joined the Budapest State Opera Ballet becoming one of the company's most popular ballerinas until she retired in 1977. A musical and dramatic dancer, she performed both classical and Soviet ballerina roles as well as creating roles, including the title role in Seregi's Sylvia (1972). She guested widely, including with the Bolshoi Ballet and London Festival Ballet and was director of the Hungarian State Ballet Institute (1972–9).
