Deep canyons of limestone formed by carbonation. The wide, deep fissures known as bogaz widen and deepen into long gorges (karst streets) with other, cross-cutting, lines of erosion. The remnant of this carbonation is tower karst. In the late stages of evolution, labyrinth karst is replaced by limestone towers (Brook and Ford (1978) Nature 275).
