A test to diagnose an anterior cruciate ligament injury of the knee. With the patient in a supine position and the knee flexed about 30°, the examiner stabilizes the femur with one hand and applies an anterior force to the tibia with the other hand. Excessive movement of the tibia forwards beneath the femur is indicative of an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
