fought, after the death of Alexander 2 the Great, by Macedon under Antipater against a Greek coalition led by Athens and Aetolia. It took its name from Lamia in Thessaly, where Antipater was besieged (see leosthenes). The war ended with the Greek defeat at Crannon.
