Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

A planned European Space Agency mission to detect gravitational waves, a follow-on from LISA Path finder. LISA's initial design envisaged three separate spacecraft flying in triangular formation with lasers measuring relative movement caused by passing gravitational waves. Originally intended as a joint mission between ESA and NASA, it is being redesigned as a simplified ESA-led mission. Launch is expected in the 2020s.
