(1758–1836), Moravian minister, composer, and editor of music, significant for his role in introducing continental Catholic church music to English audiences. His most influential musical publication was the six-volume Selection of Sacred Music (1806–20), the early volumes of which anticipated the publications of Vincent Novello, and contained music by such composers as Graun, Hasse, Pergolesi, Haydn, and Mozart.
