Quick Reference

In 1721, Leake established a successful bookshop in Bath, celebrated in Mary Chandler's A Description of Bath (1733). His reputation was damaged when Curll twice named him in false imprints of indecent works, but he continued to publish in Bath, often with William Frederick.
