(b ?Salzburg, ?1460; d Wasserburg, Upper Bavaria, ?1520). German sculptor. His father was a painter, and he may have been one also. He was recorded in Wasserburg in 1496 and mentioned there for the last time in 1519. His sculptural work embodies traditional forms in a new statuesque manner, and his red marble tomb sculpture is rooted in the work of the Bavarian sculptor Erasmus Grasser and the Master of the Chapel of Schloss Blutenburg, near Munich.
