Quick Reference

A model of the universe containing a cosmological constant term, named after G. É. Lemaître. In this model, space has a positive curvature but expands for ever. The Lemaître universe is both homogeneous and isotropic. The most interesting aspect of such a universe is that it undergoes a so-called coasting phase in which the cosmic scale factor is roughly constant with time.
