A Dutch cargo-carrier originating in the Friesland town of Lemmer. They are built with a round bottom, and are generally similar in shape to the boeier but can be up to 17 metres (55 ft) in length. Some lemsteraaks have been built as, or converted into, yachts. The traditional rig was a loose-footed mainsail having a curved gaff and a large foresail with the mast stepped in the usual tabernacle to facilitate lowering when required.
