(family Tricholomataceae)
A genus of fungi, which form mushroom-like fruit bodies. The spore print is pale pink; spores appear rough or minutely spiny under the microscope. There are many species, some of which are edible and highly esteemed (see blewit). They are found on the ground in woods, hedgerows, gardens, grassland, etc.
