A judge responsible for facilitating and advising on matters concerning mutual legal assistance in relation to the investigation and prosecution of transnational and cross‐border crime; representing UK criminal justice; identifying good practice and lessons learnt from other national jurisdictions; and liaising with UK and other liaison officers (see mutual assistance) on matters concerning organized crime, counter‐terrorism, and other serious crime. The Crown Prosecution Service supports liaison magistrates in Washington, Paris, Rome, and Madrid.
