(d. 1263).

French master-mason. He designed the Benedictine Abbey Church of St-Nicaise, Rheims (1231–63—destroyed), with an exquisite west front incorporating a tracery screen and a gigantic twin-lancet with oculus rather than the rose-window usual at that time. He is commemorated by an incised slab in Rheims Cathedral, on which he is shown holding a model and a staff of office, while a square and compasses are drawn on either side of his feet.
