A predisposition to a variety of cancers (breast cancers, soft tissue sarcomas, brain tumors, osteosarcomas, leukemias, lymphomas, and adrenal carcinomas) inherited as an autosomal dominant. Fredrick P. Li and Joseph F. Fraumeni gave the first report of this condition in 1969. The majority of patients with LFS have germ-line mutations in TP53 (q.v.). See Chronology, 1990, Malkin et al.
